Video Production & VFX

As an animation director I find it very helpful to have strong skills in video-editing as well as a good understanding of the different requirements for pre-production, production and post-production in different fields in order to find the most efficient approach as well as creative solutions for each project. I've gained valuable experience working on many different kinds of projects, this selection of projects showcases my favourite works and contributions besides traditional 2D-animation that have helped me set the foundation for my professional work as an animation director.

"RUBIKON"
freelance work in After Effects, remote
I was asked to design and animate some HUD elements in After Effects for the Austrian sci-fi film "RUBIKON", following the visual language of the graphic design in the film. They can be seen on the computer screens in the background of many shots throughout the movie.

ERSTE BANK "George" ad
freelance work in After Effects, on site
I jumped in last minute to help out with finishing this advertisement in time for a deadline. We worked intensely over the weekend, I only had a short amount of time to get a grasp of the project structure and to deliver quality work. I mainly helped with compositing, rotoscoping and keying in two transitions: 00:06 and 00:19 as well as reconstructing missing body parts from the "fall" into and out of these two shots.
ÆNGL - "ENDay$"
freelance Storyboard Artist, on site
I helped out on a series of three music videos for ÆNGL, taking on different roles depending on the needs of the production. I got involved on the first one "ENDay$" as a storyboard artist, helping the Director and DoP Jürgen Hackl visualize the story for the first video.
ÆNGL - "Facetime"
Production Assistant just for fun, on site
On "Facetime" I spontaneously got to work on a set for the first time, I was PA - moving hair in the background and  helping out  wherever hands were needed.
ÆNGL - Gahd Dayum
Assistant Director, on site
On the third music video of the series, "Ghad Dayum" I took on more responsibilty and supported the Director/DoP Jürgen Hackl as the Assistant Director of the production. I made the callsheet, managed everyone on set and made sure everything was running on time. We shot the whole music video in just one day.
"VIENNA UNDERGROUND"
just for fun
As a kid I was scared of falling onto the tracks of the underground train. Through this memory, my brother Philip and I decided to make this video. We borrowed a camera and went into the Vienna underground train system during the night in order to film some interesting shots. We wanted to create an eerie video that reflects this childish fear as well as that surreal feeling of a liminal space.
"I'd love to change the world"
part of an unofficial music video
Back in school we were tasked to make an animated music video - I chose "I'd love to change the world" by KING810 and worked with analogue effects using all kinds of different liquids in order to achieve some interesting visuals. The video never reached the quality that I hoped for, but I still really enjoy the analogue effects that I achieved and would like to use this technique for another project one day. The video has no sound since I do not own any rights.
